RPG Class Quiz
Hero
You stand at the front, choose where the party goes, and lead your companions with both sword and spell.
In many RPGs, the hero is often portrayed as the one who decides where the journey goes next. Able to use a bit of both sword and magic, the hero judges when to fight and when to fall back, and acts as the one who keeps the party together.
When you're with a group, you tend to take in the whole picture and lay out the next step: “Let's do this next.” You're better at working out who should handle what than at putting in the effort yourself, and you keep your head working to get people moving, even while standing in front.
Because a hero can do a little of everything, there are times when a companion is better at any one thing. You, too, may get so caught up watching the whole picture that your own part keeps getting pushed back. Trust the people you've handed things to, and now and then, draw your own sword too.
Strengths
- You can see how a group is moving and plan out who does what
- When a group is unsure, you can be the first to say, “Let's go this way”
- You spot what people are good at and hand them a role that suits them
Where you may stumble
- While you're working out the plan, your own hands have stopped
- When someone suggests an alternative to what's been decided, you want to rework the whole plan
- You spend so long settling the plan that the group sets off late
Sounds familiar, Hero?
- On the way home from a get-together, you're the first to ask, “So when's the next one?”
- When a group is doing something, you somehow end up coordinating everyone's messages
- You walk at the front with the map open, telling everyone which way to go
Where you shine
When a group starts something new and nobody's roles are set yet. Because you lay out the overall path first, everyone tends to find their own post faster.
Tips for “Hero”
- Once you've shared the plan, pick one task that's yours as well
- Before deciding, ask the quietest person what they think
- Once you've handed something off, wait without stepping in until it's done
Matches

Knight — The Knight is the one who forces open the path the Hero has chosen. When the Hero points and says “This way,” the Knight goes first and gets everyone through. One does the thinking and one puts their body on the line, so even side by side at the front, you can rely on each other.
Mage — The Mage thinks things through at the back and points out options the Hero hadn't seen. For a Hero busy keeping the party together, a word from the Mage, who reads ahead quietly on their own, is something to lean on when choosing the way.
Ranger — The Ranger wants to go and look for themselves before hearing the plan. While the Hero spreads out the map and explains it, the Ranger is already in the forest. The Hero frets about a Ranger who isn't at their post, and the Ranger feels stopped in their tracks every time they're called back.
