Gemstone Quiz
Jade
Made of fine interlocking crystals, you stay a quiet green and hard to break.
Jade is a stone with a deep green or white color and a soft, glossy sheen. In Japan, the kind of jade called jadeite is found around Itoigawa in Niigata Prefecture, and it has been shaped into beads and ornaments since the Jomon period, Japan's prehistoric era thousands of years ago. In 2016 it was chosen as “Japan's national stone” by the Japan Association of Mineralogical Sciences.
Jade is made of countless tiny crystals gathered together and interlocked. So although it isn't nearly as hard as diamond, it's remarkably tough and hard to break when struck. Among your companions, you'd rather quietly keep your own color than stand out, and you're the one who keeps everyone connected.
Jade is sometimes carried from the mountains down rivers to the coast, where it's found as rounded stones with their edges worn away. You're good at keeping one thing going with people for a long time, but sudden change from outside the circle can make you slow to move. If you take it in little by little without rushing, the edges wear smooth.

Amber — Amber beads and ornaments have also been found at Jomon-period sites. Like Jade, Amber has kept its shape for thousands of years. As two who value keeping things going without rushing, your pace of conversation matches.
Moonstone — Moonstone, too, doesn't sparkle strongly but glows softly from within. Jade keeps its unchanging green while Moonstone moves its light to suit the room, so a quiet gathering gets just the right touch of change.
Diamond — Jade is only moderately hard, yet hard to break. Diamond is hard to scratch but splits easily in certain directions. Your kinds of strength are completely different, so each of your ways of doing things can look to the other like pushing too hard.
