Gemstone Quiz
Amethyst
You line up with your companions, all facing the same way, and glow a clear purple together.
Amethyst is purple quartz. Its color is said to come from a tiny trace of iron combined with natural radiation absorbed over a very long time. It's often found as a hollow in rock whose inside is lined with crystals packed tightly together.
Inside such a hollow, every crystal points inward, all shining the same purple. Like those crystals, you find your strength when you gather with people you click with and everyone faces the same direction. Even inside the circle, your own color stays clear, and you don't change what you say depending on who you're talking to.
Amethyst is said to fade if it's left in strong sunlight for a long time. When you spend long stretches away from your companions, standing in front of people on your own, your clear purple can slowly fade too. Setting aside a relaxed day with your people ahead of time keeps the color.
Strengths
- You can keep everyone in step toward a goal the group has set
- Even inside a group, you can say clearly what you think
- You can keep promises and agreements made with your companions for a long time
Where you may stumble
- When one person wants to change a way of doing things the group agreed on, you feel the urge to hold them back
- When you keep having to stand up in front of people alone, away from your companions, it's hard to find your usual rhythm
- Even for things you could decide alone, you want to hear what the group thinks first
Sounds familiar, Amethyst?
- At your usual get-togethers, you even sit in the same spot every time
- When the group talks things over, you catch yourself saying “That's how we did it last time, right?”
- Plans for your get-togethers go around in the same group chat, worded the same way
Where you shine
Activities a group has kept going for years, or moments when everyone needs to face the same way. Because you show a clear color inside the circle, the whole group tends to pull together.
Tips for “Amethyst”
- For someone new, explain just one of the usual ways of doing things up front
- When someone wants to change how things are done, first try it their way once
- After a run of days standing up front alone, spend your next day off with your people

Jade — Jade, too, is made of countless tiny crystals. In Amethyst they line up facing the same way; in Jade they interlock and hold together. Though you gather differently, you share the comfort of becoming one with your companions.
Diamond — Diamond moves alone from place to place, catching the light wherever it goes. To an Amethyst keeping the same color inside its usual circle, it brings new light found out in the world.
Pearl — Amethyst shows a clear purple together with its companions, while Pearl deepens its luster alone, one layer at a time. Your speed and the distance you keep from people differ, so when you decide things together, it's hard to find each other's rhythm.
