Sea Creature Quiz
Octopus
You hide in a crack in the rocks, changing your color and shape to match your surroundings as you wait for the moment.
The octopus is a cephalopod with eight arms lined with suckers. With no bones, its body is soft, and it's said that as long as the hard part of its mouth fits through, it can squeeze through the narrowest of gaps. It's also known for having three hearts.
Most octopuses make their homes in cracks and holes in the rocks. They change not only the color and pattern of their skin but even its bumpy texture, blending in with the rocks and seaweed around them and grabbing prey that comes close. With your home as a base, you change your appearance to match your surroundings while you quietly wait for the moment.
Some octopuses make their homes in shells or bottles, and in Japan, a traditional way of catching them makes use of this habit by lowering clay pots to the seafloor for them to crawl into. Because you're so good at blending in, it can be hard to find an opening to let your own thoughts out. After going along with things, add just one word about what you think, and your shape will come through too.

Squid — The Squid is a close cephalopod cousin that also changes color and squirts ink. For the Octopus hiding among the rocks, the Squid, roaming the open sea and sending signals, is a kindred spirit who brings back news of the world outside.
Clownfish — The Clownfish also changes its role to suit those around it, close to home. Because the Clownfish, who's good at standing out, steps forward, the Octopus, who's good at hiding, can move calmly while watching from the shadows.
Ocean Sunfish — The Ocean Sunfish shows itself at the surface without hiding and roams the open sea in its own way of swimming. To the Octopus, who hides among the rocks and changes its appearance to match its surroundings, the Ocean Sunfish's bold, go-my-own-way style seems too daring to read — and to the Ocean Sunfish, the Octopus's quick changes are hard to keep track of.
