Vehicle Quiz compatibility chart
For each of the 8 vehicles, two that are easy to be with and one that may clash. A clash does not mean either side is wrong — they simply value different things.
Shinkansen (Bullet Train)
- Easy together Streetcar In quite a few Japanese cities, you can step off the Shinkansen and onto a streetcar. The Shinkansen carries crowds far in one go and the Streetcar makes frequent stops around town, so each of you takes over where the other leaves off.
- Easy together Airplane The Airplane also carries lots of people far in one go. The Shinkansen runs on rails and the Airplane through the sky, and which one fits best depends on how far you're going. You share the same job, and you can divide it up instead of fighting over it.
- May clash Canoe The Shinkansen works backward from its departure time, while the Canoe looks at the water that day and then decides when to push off. Your ways of planning are different at the root, so when you go somewhere together, it's hard to agree even on when to leave.
Bobsleigh
- Easy together Shinkansen (Bullet Train) The Shinkansen and the Bobsleigh both have streamlined shapes that slice through the air, and both move fast along a set route. One carries crowds, the other a small team, but whatever the scale, talk about planning clicks right away.
- Easy together Ferris Wheel The Ferris Wheel also goes around a set circle, with a few people in each car. After a Bobsleigh's rush to the bottom, the Ferris Wheel's slow trip around the same path offers time to ease off and take in the view.
- May clash Sailing Ship The Bobsleigh decides its momentum in the first few seconds of the start, while the Sailing Ship waits for the wind before it moves. Your signals for getting going are completely different, so when you move together, each of you tends to be thrown by the other's way of doing things.
Airplane
- Easy together Helicopter The Helicopter is a fellow flier, free in the sky. The Airplane takes crowds far from a long runway, and the Helicopter can lift off with a few people even from a tight spot, so the two of you can split the work of the skies.
- Easy together Sailing Ship The Sailing Ship also picks its route by the wind. For an Airplane hurrying somewhere far off, the Sailing Ship's unhurried way with the wind shows a different way to use the same breeze.
- May clash Ferris Wheel The Airplane takes crowds somewhere far off, while the Ferris Wheel takes a few people around and back to where they started. Your sense of how far “going somewhere” means is different, so when you plan an outing together, you tend to drift apart on how far to go.
Helicopter
- Easy together Bobsleigh The Bobsleigh, too, carries a small group and moves fast. The Helicopter picks its route as it flies and the Bobsleigh slides down a set course, but you share the thrill of moving quickly with just a few.
- Easy together Canoe The Canoe can slip into narrow waterways that big ships can't enter. Like the Helicopter, which can land where there's no open space, it enjoys going where others don't go.
- May clash Streetcar The Helicopter chooses where to land on the spot, while the Streetcar has fixed stops. Your ideas of where to stop are different, so when you make plans together, you tend to get out of sync starting with where to meet.
Streetcar
- Easy together Ferris Wheel The Ferris Wheel, too, keeps slowly going around a set path. The Streetcar going back and forth through town and the Ferris Wheel turning the same circle are alike in valuing the same path without rushing, so you feel settled together.
- Easy together Sailing Ship The Sailing Ship also carries lots of people and moves slowly. For a Streetcar running on set tracks, the Sailing Ship's stories of choosing a route by the wind show the view beyond the usual path.
- May clash Helicopter The Streetcar carries a crowd along set tracks, stopping often, while the Helicopter flies a few people wherever it fancies. When you try to get the same errand done together, you tend to split into one side that wants to wait as it goes and one side that wants to move now.
Ferris Wheel
- Easy together Streetcar The Streetcar picks people up and drops them off all over town. For a Ferris Wheel slowly carrying a few people around, it brings connections to townspeople you'd never meet on your own.
- Easy together Canoe The Canoe also carries a few people and moves slowly. For a Ferris Wheel going around the same circle, the Canoe, paddling off wherever it likes, shows the view outside the usual circle.
- May clash Airplane The Ferris Wheel slowly goes around the same circle with a few people, while the Airplane carries a crowd far away fast, choosing its route as it goes. Both show you the view from up high, but they get there at completely different speeds, so together you tend to split into one side that wants to take it slow and one that wants to press on.
Sailing Ship
- Easy together Canoe The Canoe also heads where it wants by watching the wind and the current. The Sailing Ship works its sails with a big crew and the Canoe is paddled by hand by a few, but on the same water you share the feeling of choosing your route without rushing.
- Easy together Airplane The Airplane takes off into a headwind, and the Sailing Ship zigzags its way into one. Both read the wind to pick a route, so you can trade stories about how you get along with it.
- May clash Bobsleigh The Sailing Ship waits for the wind with a big crew and moves slowly while choosing its route, while the Bobsleigh shoots down a set course in one go with a small team. Both move in step with teammates, but at different speeds, so working together, one of you tends to end up waiting or rushing.
Canoe
- Easy together Sailing Ship On a Sailing Ship, a big crew works together to handle the sails. For a Canoe always paddling with its own hands, the Sailing Ship can tell stories of far-off seas it couldn't reach alone.
- Easy together Helicopter The slowly paddling Canoe and the Helicopter, which takes off the moment an idea strikes, are opposites in speed. But both want to decide where to go themselves with just a few people, so plans for where to go come together fast.
- May clash Shinkansen (Bullet Train) The Canoe wants to move quietly with a few people, while the Shinkansen wants to carry crowds together. Your sense of a comfortable number of people differs, so when you do something together, neither of you finds it easy to get comfortable.
