Past-Life Job Quiz
Ferryman
Standing at the same riverbank day after day, you read the water and take people across to the other side.
A ferryman rowed people and their loads across rivers where there was no bridge. Every day, at the same riverbank, they looked at how high and how fast the water was running and decided whether a boat could go out. To travelers, the ferryman was also a familiar face partway along the road.
You do a loop of the neighborhood and stop to chat whenever you run into someone you know. Like someone who once held a ferryman's pole, you stay in one place yet deal with lots of people coming and going. You find more energy in welcoming whoever comes along, spotting what's troubling them and lending a hand, than in heading far away yourself.
A ferryman doesn't go with travelers all the way to where they're headed. They take them to the far bank, then wait for the next person. You, too, are suited to seeing people off. But when there's somewhere you want to cross to yourself, you tend to miss the moment to say so.
Strengths

- You can show someone who's unsure their next step, and send them on their way
Where you may stumble
- You're so busy seeing others off that your own errands get pushed back
- It's hard to say yes to invitations that take you away from familiar places
- When you judge something risky, you can be so cautious that you miss the chance
Sounds familiar, Ferryman?
- You know the faces of almost everyone in your neighborhood and the local shops
