Season Quiz
Spring
Like a freshly sprouted bud, you start new things and spread them outward.
Spring is the season when the buds that waited all winter at the tips of the branches open all at once. Insects that spent the winter underground come out, and towns and hillsides suddenly come to life. You, too, have the most energy when you're starting something, and you keep spreading what you've started to new people and places.
In Japan, the cherry blossoms open day by day from south to north, and the news follows that “blossom front” up the country. Your “Let's try it!” doesn't stay in one place either. When an idea strikes, you speak up and pull people in, and before you know it, buds are popping up all over the place.
Not every bud that comes out in spring keeps growing until summer. With the things you start, too, your eye sometimes moves on to the next bud before you've grown the last one. That also means you have plenty of buds — choose which ones to grow, and spring's momentum carries straight on into summer.
Strengths
- You can start an idea on the very day you think of it
- You can say “Let's do it together” to someone who's hesitating over the first step
- You show up early at new places and new groups
Where you may stumble
- The things you've started pile up, and the next season arrives with all of them half-done
- When it's time to tidy up and finish, your mind has already moved on
- Next to someone who wants to go deep on one thing for a long time, you can't help bringing up something new
Sounds familiar, Spring?
- Your drawer holds several half-used notebooks
- The person who says “We should do this sometime!” is usually you
- You find your name on the sign-up sheet for taster sessions and free trials
Where you shine
Launching something new, or getting a stalled plan moving again. Just as the hills wake up all at once in spring, one word from you is often what gets everyone around you going.
Tips for “Spring”
- Before you start something new, finish just one thing that's half-done
- From what you've started, pick just one to grow this season
- Ask someone who's good at finishing to look over the last stage with you

Summer — Summer also spreads outward. It takes the buds Spring puts out and grows them all the way to full leaf. When a starter teams up with someone who sees things through, ideas make it all the way to something real.
Winter — Winter also loves starting things. Spring takes what Winter quietly began alone and spreads it to people and places. You share the urge to begin, so you understand each other right away.
Autumn — Autumn wants to finish what's in hand, slowly and inwardly. When Spring keeps bringing in new ideas, it can feel to Autumn like being pulled away from something that's just about to ripen.
