Personal Space Quiz compatibility chart
For each of the 4 seats, two that are easy to be with and one that may clash. A clash does not mean either side is wrong — they simply value different things.
Communal Table
- Easy together Booth The Booth also doesn't leave much space between itself and others. It grows the connections the Communal Table brings in into long friendships.
- Easy together Sidewalk Table The Sidewalk Table also likes being among lots of people. While the Communal Table shuffles along to make a circle, the Sidewalk Table keeps the door open: “Join us anytime, even halfway through.”
- May clash Window Counter The Window Counter likes to sit with a few people, with comfortable space in between. The Communal Table's “Come over here!” can feel to it like an interruption of its quiet time.
Booth
- Easy together Communal Table The Communal Table brings in new people. Through it, you get to know people a Booth would never have met on its own.
- Easy together Window Counter The Window Counter also keeps a few friendships for a long time. You keep different amounts of space, but you click over caring for the same people year after year.
- May clash Sidewalk Table The Sidewalk Table likes to be with lots of people, with enough space for a breeze between them. When the Booth leans in for a deep talk, the Sidewalk Table stays at its comfortable distance, and to the Booth it can feel like a step back.
Sidewalk Table
- Easy together Communal Table The Communal Table also loves a crowd. When the Communal Table builds the circle and the Sidewalk Table adds its come-and-go air, you get a gathering anyone can join.
- Easy together Window Counter The Window Counter also leaves comfortable space. You share a way of being close without clinging, so even when you only meet now and then, you can relax.
- May clash Booth The Booth wants to be close and deep with a few particular people. Each time the Sidewalk Table widens things to “everyone,” the Booth can feel its time with you is being taken lightly.
Window Counter
- Easy together Booth The Booth also keeps a few friendships for a long time. Because the Booth moves in close, the Window Counter finds it easier to talk about things it would never bring up first.
- Easy together Sidewalk Table The Sidewalk Table also leaves comfortable space. Neither of you pushes in too far, so an easygoing friendship lasts a long time.
- May clash Communal Table The Communal Table wants to be close with lots of people. Every “Let's all…” and “Come closer!” can feel to the Window Counter like being moved out of the seat it had settled into.
