Dog Breed Quiz
Saint Bernard
With your big frame planted firmly, you welcome in anyone who's in trouble.
The Saint Bernard is said to come from dogs kept at the hospice on the Great St Bernard Pass, an Alpine pass between Switzerland and Italy. They're said to have searched for travelers lost on the snowbound pass and guided them back to the hospice. The breed takes its name from that pass.
Among the hospice dogs was one named Barry, who is said to have saved around 40 people. Standing firm in deep snow with a big body, setting out to help whoever it might be. You're the person who stays calm, settles in firmly, and welcomes in anyone who's struggling.
Because you hold your ground with a big frame, you can fall a little behind when it's time to change direction quickly. Rather than running to keep up with people in a hurry, you're at your strongest catching whoever comes your way at your own calm pace. Let people know up front that you're “right here,” and anyone who needs to lean on you can find you without trouble.

Sounds familiar, Saint Bernard?
- At gatherings, you end up with the jobs you can do sitting down, like watching the bags or handling the sign-in table

- Strangers often stop you in the street to ask, “Excuse me…”
