Instrument Quiz
Ocarina
Like a clay flute that fits in your palm, you quietly play simple melodies on your own.
The ocarina is a small flute, most often made of fired clay. Its name is said to mean “little goose” in Italian. Its sound is soft and simple, reaching the people close by rather than ringing out far and wide.
The ocarina can't play chords, but it can play a melody as if singing it. Because it's small and easy to carry, you can play it alone whenever the mood strikes, without needing anyone to play along. You pursue the things you love quietly, at your own pace.
Its range isn't very wide, so there are some songs it just can't play. Because you have a clear sense of what you're good at, you can be thrown when someone suddenly asks you to take on an unfamiliar role. If you tell people your range up front, they'll find it easier to ask you for things.

Accordion — When the Accordion lays chords underneath, the Ocarina's simple melody becomes much richer. Even a small sound carries farther than it would played alone.
Harp — The Harp's sound is soft too, and doesn't cover the Ocarina. As two quiet instruments, they can play together while really listening to each other.
Tuba — Next to the Tuba's big low notes, the Ocarina's small sound has trouble getting through. The Tuba wants to play with a crowd; the Ocarina wants to play quietly on its own. They feel at home in different places.
