Wasabi

Like wasabi with its sharp kick at the moment it matters, you bring out the best in others when it counts.

Brings out othersSharpA dash when it counts

Wasabi is a spice that grows wild in Japan's mountains and has been used since ancient times; it grows well where cold, clean water flows. When its thick, root-like stem is grated, the heat is created right where it's crushed. That heat rushes up through your nose and doesn't linger long in your mouth.

A little wasabi is served with sashimi and sushi to bring out the flavor of the fish. Similarly, you'd rather bring out other people's strengths than drive the conversation yourself. You may be quiet most of the time, but at important moments, you give someone a push with a short, crisp word.

Freshly grated wasabi loses its heat over time. Your words, too, lose their effect once the right moment has passed. While you wait for the right time, you sometimes end up not saying anything at all. When you think “Maybe now,” say it, even briefly — that's when it works best.

Strengths

  • With a short word, you can make someone's strengths stand out
  • At important moments, you can say something crisp and clear
  • You don't dwell on what you've said; you move on cleanly

Where you may stumble

  • While you wait for the right moment, it passes
  • Since you're usually quiet, your crisp remark lands harder than you expected
  • In small everyday exchanges, you feel you don't have much of a part

Sounds familiar, Wasabi?

Where you shine

Right before someone's big moment, or when their strengths haven't come across yet. A short word from you tends to make what they have shine.

Easy together

Soy Sauce — Soy Sauce calmly keeps everyday life together. Like wasabi mixed into soy sauce, when Soy Sauce keeps the daily flow in order, Wasabi can put all its energy into the one word at the important moment.

Easy together

Salt — Salt clearly sets the foundation of things. Both speak crisply, so conversations move fast, and within the direction Salt has set, Wasabi can step into its role of bringing out others without hesitation.

May clash

Sugar — Sugar stays close every day, softening things around it. When Wasabi tries to say something crisp at an important moment, Sugar tries to soften its edges, so each can feel the other is weakening the way it works.
