Animals that move fast, together

Zebra

You blend into the herd, but your ears are always turned to the sounds around you.

With othersQuickCautiousKeep it inside

Zebras travel across the grasslands in herds, and even while grazing they turn their ears this way and that to pick up sounds. When they sense danger, the whole herd breaks into a run at once. One theory is that the stripes blur the outline of any one zebra within the herd.

You probably tend to blend into a group rather than stand out. In return, you're quick to notice changes around you, and when everyone starts moving you're never late — sometimes you're even the first to go.

From the outside the stripes look alike, but every zebra's pattern is different. Even when you move in step with everyone, your thoughts are your own, and in discussions you often hold back your view until someone asks, “What do you think?”

Strengths

  • Even at a first-time gathering, you pick up how things are done there right away
  • The moment the mood shifts, you notice and smoothly step out of the way
  • When everyone starts moving, you fall into step without lagging

Where you may stumble

  • Being so good at blending in, you miss your chance to give your opinion
  • When others move, you may move with them before checking why
  • You keep quiet about something you'd noticed, and later people are surprised: “You knew?”

Sounds familiar, Zebra?

Where you shine

Moving through crowded places, or moments when the atmosphere suddenly changes. You're the one who picks up the signs early and moves smoothly along with everyone.

Peacock — The Peacock likes to spread itself out for all to see. For you, who'd rather blend in, being with it means getting swept into the spotlight, which is unsettling.
