Animals that take it easy, together
Alpaca
You take life slowly with your herd, and you let your feelings out honestly.
Alpacas live in herds and spend their days slowly grazing. They're wary of anything unfamiliar, and if they sense danger they alert the others with a high-pitched call. Usually they make a soft humming sound, and you can also tell their mood from how they hold their ears and tail.
You probably value unhurried time with people you're comfortable with. You approach new things carefully, but you don't hide much about what pleases or bothers you — it shows right on your face and in your voice.
An alpaca herd keeps to its shared arrangements so well that it even agrees on communal dung piles. Gradually building a safe, comfortable place together with your people is very much your way of doing things.
Strengths
- You value a group's shared customs and keep it a comfortable place to be
- Since you don't hide how you feel, people rarely misread how you're doing
- You don't leap at sudden proposals, and can wait until everyone's on board
Where you may stumble
- In a room full of strangers, it takes you a while to settle in
- When something bothers you, it shows on your face before you say anything
- When the usual routine changes, it takes you a while to settle down
Sounds familiar, Alpaca?
- With close friends, you can spend hours in the same room without talking
- When you're unhappy, your mouth says “I'm fine” but your face has already answered
- You'd rather go to the usual place with the usual crowd than try somewhere new
Where you shine
Get-togethers with your regular crowd, or a long-running hobby group. Since your likes and dislikes show on your face, it's easier for everyone to tell when it's time to call it a day.
Tips for “Alpaca”
- When going somewhere new, bring along one person you know
- Before it shows on your face, try saying in a few words, “I'm not loving this”
- When your usual routine is going to change, give yourself a heads-up in advance
